One oak-burning hearth, lit at two each afternoon, cooks almost everything we serve: day-boat fish, Maine vegetables and a short list of meats from farms within sixty miles.

Fish comes in each morning from day boats working Casco Bay. Items marked * are cooked to order. The hearth burns red oak only, split on site.

The cellar

Sixty wines, twelve of them poured by the glass, lean toward cool-climate reds and coastal whites that sit well next to smoke. The room seats 42, with dinner from 5:00pm, Tuesday to Sunday.

Parking

Metered street parking on Danforth Street is free after 6:00pm. A public garage is two blocks east.

Seating

One room of 42 seats: 34 at tables and 8 at the bar facing the hearth.

Children & dress

Come as you are. Children are welcome before 7:00pm, and we keep two high chairs.

Payment

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and cash. Parties of 7 or more carry a 20% service charge.
