Forty Villas, One Reef

Marisol Cay is a 40-villa resort on the bay side of Key Largo, 75 minutes south of Miami by car on the Overseas Highway. Twenty-two villas stand on pilings over four feet of clear water, and eighteen sit on the sand behind a line of sea grape. Our dive boat leaves the dock at 8:00 a.m. for two tanks on the outer reef, and a 48-foot catamaran sails an hour before sunset. Breakfast is included; dinner, dives and the sail are extra.

Forty villas, one dock, one dive boat and a kitchen that buys from the fishing boats in Tavernier. We kept the resort small on purpose, so the reef, the pool deck and the sunset sail never feel crowded.
